Job description

Job Summary:
The Division Director of Industrialization is responsible for industrialization activities across the production sites of the Division. The selected manager will deploy Safran's industrialization standards and support their execution on development projects and programs towards an efficient way to build our products. He/she will drive standardization of our manufacturing processes across the sites in order to reduce time to market and manufacturing costs. This role is also responsible to share performance metrics to the VP Engineering of the division and the VP Industrialization of Cabin Corporate Engineering.

Site Industrialization managers will report to this position. This position will report operationally to the VP Engineering of the division, and functionally to the VP Industrialization of Cabin Corporate Engineering. The selected manager will be based at one of the division sites, and will travel frequently to other sites.

Summary of Duties:
• Manage industrialization on new development projects in their division:
• Define the industrialization team and mandate
• Formalize preliminary process flow diagrams (for development and serial production)
• Analyze ability to manufacture and inspect products and verify target Recurring Costs feasibility
• Perform Preliminary Risk Analysis and Classify criticality of the industrialization
• Establish preliminary industrialization schedule and preliminary list of requirements
• Finalize risk analysis and industrialization schedule
• Formalize definition characteristics and capability requirements
• Perform Process Risk Analysis (for example: Process FMEA)
• Initiate Measurement System Analysis (MSA) study
• Initiate Process capability and capacity study
• Design serial manufacturing and assembly processes
• Define product protection, packaging and labeling
• Define Control plan
• Formalize Production preparation plan
• Work out serial Production Process
• Conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
• Evaluate serial production readiness
• Lead manufacturing of the FAI (First Article Inspection) products
• Perform inspection of FAI products
• Conduct a capability or pre-capability study on 5 parts
• Establish FAI report
• Substantiate control plan
• Update capability study
• Establish indicators to track QCDRS objectives achievement
• Perform a production process run at target rate
• Conduct a production readiness review

Additional description

• Periodically record production operational performance
• Update Control plan and Process FMEA
• Collect and record lessons learnt from the industrialization project
• Is the bridge between Engineering and Manufacturing at Division level
• With the VP Engineering at Division level, deploys the industrialization strategy from Cabin, the standards and the best practices given by the Cabin VP Industrialization across the Sites of his Division
• Supports the Cabin VP Industrialization in the definition of the standards and the captures of the best practices by his / her Retex
• With the Cabin VP Industrialization and the Division VP Engineering, he / she is accountable for the definition of the industrial process and where it is to be developed within his Division
• Accountable for the deployment of these industrial processes in the Sites chosen
• Develops new industrial projects in line with the Cabin VP Industrialization's roadmap
• Participate in the innovation on new technologies
• Deploy Safran Standards and train the teams to it
• Own the “Industrialize” Business Process for the Division and participate in its continuous improvement.

Candidate skills & requirements

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Aeronautical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering required.
Experience:
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a medium manufacturing environment required.
• 3-5 years formal management experience required.
• Experience applying lean manufacturing concepts and tools, including 5S required.
Computer Skills:
• Knowledge and experience with AS9100 required.
• Experience working with MRP/ERP systems
• Proficiency with MS Office Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Other Skills:
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Consistent follow through on all assigned tasks.
• Broad knowledge of the field with proven management skills.
• Effective oral and written communications skills
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and assignments with attention to detail
• Problem solving, well organized, detailed oriented and accurate.
• Strong written and verbal business communications abilities, must be comfortable delivering information to all levels of the organization including senior leadership.
• Strong knowledge of business finance skills and abilities.

Additional Preferred Skills: (not required)
• Master's degree in Industrial, Aeronautical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
• Prior experience in composites manufacturing strongly preferred. Coursework or certification in lean manufacturing concepts and tools
• Problem-solving skills (Six Sigma Green Belt, etc.…)
