Safran Engineering Services UK Ltd, based in Bristol, UK, has a new vacancy for a Flammability Engineer to support certification of aircraft interior components designed and manufactured in South Wales and at other divisions.

Key responsibilities will include:-
Validating decisions as part of the approval signatory team to manufacturing non-conformances and repair solutions.
Reviewing relevant technical specifications, including delivery matrices, customer finish specifications, and general engineering drawings.
Participation in design reviews by supporting the design team in all in-house and customer design reviews by being familiar with the proposed interior units and finishes, with the ability to identify and address potential problematic material combinations and proposing methods of showing compliance during the review.
Prepare flammability substantiation documents, such as flammability test plans and flammability test reports to show compliance to applicable regulatory requirements.
Prepare all documents related to the flammability substantiation of an assigned unit.
Apply principles from Flammability Engineering manual.
Conduct peer reviews of test plans and reports for quality and accuracy

Limited travel will be required within this role

Candidate skills & requirements

Degree Level or equivalent - (Mechanical, Chemical or Materials)
Minimum of 4 years experience in flammability in relation to aerospace cabin interiors is essential.

Experience working under CS25.853 (sections a,b,c and d)
Knowledge of Flammability Manual, Bunsen burner, heat release and smoke requirements.
Catia V5 knowledge
Experience and knowledge of aerospace composite / metallic materials and manufacturing processes
Product Lifecycle Management (PDM)
Able to establish credibility with internal/external customers
Good knowledge of aircraft industry standards and regulations
Excellent English (verbal and written communication skills)
Able to work to tight demanding deadlines and work effectively within an integrated project team.
