Job description

1) Occupational Summary:

The Quality Manager will ensure the administration of the company's quality, process and/or business improvement efforts within a defined segment of the organization. Responsible for interfacing with program, purchasing, contracts, engineering, customers, and suppliers on quality related issues.
Will manage day-to-day operation, inspection and reporting of installed final product quality issues. Will act as a conduit through which quality issues will be reported to the Business Units. Will also manage relationship and expectations with Boeing and the airlines and will maintain an open communication channel with all partners.

2) Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions):

A) Overall quality management and technical leadership of the quality processes and procedures.
B) Ensures appropriate conduct of quality inspection in the field and monitor that project quality issues are properly tracked and reported to appropriate Business Units.
C) Confirms operational compliance via audit / reporting, as appropriate, and initiates corrective and preventive actions.
D) Driving continuous Improvement and ensuring oversight of Quality Management in all areas of the organization.
E) Develop and maintain effective, collaborative working relationships with both internal and external customers.
F) Build positive employee relationships based on defined measurable goals, open communication, and participative management.
G) Manage staffing of the quality organization.
H) Ensure proper training for personnel within the Quality department.
I) Directly interfaces with customers and manages the companies' Quality Improvement Plans.
J) Manage all Quality elements of receiving inspection processes
K) Support the resolution of problems using the QRQC or equivalent process
L) Manage and oversee internal stock sweeps to segregate and control suspected non-conforming material
M) Define quality procedures to ensure customer and regulatory specifications are met
N) Collect and analyze performance data and charts against defined parameters and present the information to extended teams as necessary
O) Ensure compliance with AS/EN 9100 Quality Management System requirements
P) When required, interface with FAA on regulatory issues regarding conformity, compliance, or certification.
Q) Undertake additional duties and accept delegated tasks and associated authorities as directed by OSS Manager
R) Performs other duties as assigned.

Candidate skills & requirements

3) Qualification Requirements:

A) Knowledge and Skills:

i) Strong written and verbal communication skills essential for interaction with internal and external customers.
ii) Proficient knowledge of PC environment, including email and Microsoft Office Suite.
iii) Strong record keeping and organizational skills.
iv) Excellent Leadership, communications and a solid understanding of LEAN principles in a Manufacturing environment.
v) Strong knowledge and experience with Lean Six Sigma tools. Greenbelt certification preferred.
vi) Some understanding of reading drawings and schematics.
vii) Able to learn and adapt to Aerospace Standards.
viii) Comfortable in a multitasking environment.
ix) Ability to manage and set priority to team members.
x) Must have a working knowledge of AS/EN 9100.
xi) Must possess team building skills as a leader and coach.
xii) Must be knowledgeable with manufacturing, inspection, audit and assembly processes.
xiii) Be familiar with FAA regulations and rules applicable to Zodiac Seats US products.
xiv) Strong desire to bring Operational Excellence to the teams.

B) Education and Experience:

i) Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Engineering, Mathematics, etc.); Master's degree preferred.
ii) Must have five years' experience in Quality Assurance or related field.
iii) A minimum of two years prior supervisory experience required.
iv) Six sigma oriented training preferable.
v) Experience or training in statistical tools and analysis
vi) DMIR/DAR preferred.
