Job description

1) Occupational Summary:

Liaison and conduit between Safran Seats USA and Customer (Airframers and Airlines) for any Quality issue detected during product delivery, seat installation or final aircraft cabin inspection. Primary objective of role is to improve customer satisfaction and perception of reaction to reported issues by leading product quality improvement projects. Act as customer advocate role responsible for leading root cause analysis on reported non-conformances and effective implementation of preventive actions to prevent reoccurrences.

2) Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions):

A) Act as a quality interface for Safran Seats USA customers, responsible for immediate response and follow up actions on all inquiries raise during product delivery. (Voice Of Customer)
B) Clearly define customer expectations of quality requirements and translate them to production.
C) Responsible for immediate deployment of containment actions on any reported non-conformances reported from airframer final assembly facility or Airline.
D) Leading technical root cause analysis and effective implementation of permanent corrective actions through engineering design updates, manufacturing assembly sequencing planning correction, tooling improvement, training or process change.
E) Uses the problem solving tools such as 8D, 4S, 5Whys, Pareto Analysis, FMEA, etc.
F) Work closely with worldwide quality team located in other Safran Seats manufacturing facilities.
G) Perform monthly defect data trend and customer analysis to identify areas of opportunity.
H) Leading monthly OEM Quality Improvement Board meeting to analyze major KPI's and review project improvement status rail.
I) Assist Quality Management team with project definition for overall quality improvement processes. Lead project teams in related quality initiatives.
J) Provide technical support, guidance and direction to Field Service team stationed at customer's manufacturing sites.
K) Gather required data on customer reported issues, visit onsite as required, be the customer's representative at SSUSA and the SSUSA representative to our customer base.
L) Daily technical discussions on project status with cross functional groups within the organization.
M) Other tasks assigned by SSUSA Management team.
N) Provides guideline, training and support to inspection personnel and entry level engineers.
O) Performs other duties as assigned.

Candidate skills & requirements

3) Qualification Requirements:

A) Knowledge and Skills:

i) Must have an extensive knowledge of Quality systems and procedures.
ii) Must have the ability to interact with all levels of employees, customers, and suppliers.
iii) Must possess ability to lead and engage suppliers and employees in continuous improvement projects.
iv) Working knowledge of FAA regulations is required.
v) Must have working knowledge of processes and procedures used in manufacturing of products. Must be familiar with LEAN/Six Sigma fundamentals and implementation and customers.

B) Education and Experience:

i) Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related technical field.
ii) Must have at least 2 years of experience in a Quality professional role.
iii) Green Belt or ASQ certification is preferred.
