Job description

The Manufacturing / Industrialization Engineer is required to complete a full analysis of our product range and validate the Industrialization of the products from design intent through; drawings, layouts, production documentation and manufacturing operations. This position requires communication and travel to the supplier manufacturing plant in Juarez, Mexico
• Job/Office Location: Twinsburg, Ohio
• This is a two (2) year fixed term position with a potential to become a full-time role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• The Manufacturing / Industrialization Engineer is required to monitor supplier compliance with the quality standards & flow downs, validates Production Parts Approval Process on delivered hardware and approves First Articles (FAIs)
• The candidate will measure, analyze and drive improvements in the manufacturing processes and equipment used in the manufacture of electrical generator sub-assemblies, to assure compliance to engineering specifications and to ensure a high quality industrialized process in the suppliers.
• The position is responsible to troubleshoot issues which affect production delivery schedules, customer satisfaction and quality.
• The position is responsible to provide manufacturing and industrialization support to the Mechanical engineering design group, the Supplier Performance Management group and the Supplier for process/product improvements.
• Must have a Continuous Improvement history and fully conversant with PFMEA's and CI techniques.
• Experience in validating production process plans.
• Experience and or able to demonstrate the ability to develop, diagnose and maintain automated equipment, automated bending equipment, and other automated equipment.
• Program management fundamentals.
• New Product Development & Launch: Knowledge of the key phases and requirements of an effective new program process.
• Product development and launch system - i.e. APQP, PPAP, etc - and has basic knowledge of the associated tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, Characteristic Matrix, Gage Capability, Process Capability, Process Flow.
• Preventive Maintenance, Machine Runoff, Risk analysis, Causal analysis, 8D, SPC etc.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical procedures, purchase specifications, applicable FAA regulations and contractual terms and conditions.
• Must be accountable, self-motivated and act with a sense of urgency to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner, observing production and project schedules.
• Will assist Supplier quality on audits to confirm work instructions conform to drawing requirements.
• Up to 30% travel (both within the U.S. & outside the U.S.)
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Evening/night hours may be required.
• Weekend hours may be required.

• Proficient at analyzing wound assembly manufacturing processes such as copper forming, brazing, impregnation.
• Proficient with Aerospace industry braze standards
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels internally and externally, representing Safran to the suppliers.
• High level of self-motivation and job planning, able to work independently and meet deadlines
• Enthusiastic, with a drive for results
• Strong verbal and written skills
