Role description

Working collaboratively with the Operations team, you will use your engineering knowledge to deliver a high-quality product to our customers. Ensuring your work is completed to optimum specifications within an agreed timescale and to a specified budget, you will apply continuous improvement tools to avoid customer escapes and the costs associated with non-quality. Complying with all regulatory requirements (including EASA Part 21, EN 9100 and NADCAP) plus internal and external procedures, you will work safely and methodically, contributing to and managing product and process audits – applying any corrective and non-conformance actions as appropriate. You will also contribute to the preparation of quality plans for new customer and new products and you will lead zero concessions plans for new products as they are entered into service.

Travel specifictity

Based in Burnley, with occasional travel to France and other UK sites

Candidate skills & requirements

Skills & Attributes
• Proactive, willing to innovate and challenge where appropriate
• Communicative and able to be a team player, consider team goals
• HND or engineering-related degree or equivalent experience
• Experience of key quality tools is essential tools such as PFMEA, SPC, 8D, 6 Sigma ideally
• Demonstrable ability to operate as QA throughout full lifecycle of production
• Experience in a technical or manufacturing environment is ideal
• Ability to identify & solve complex problems.
• Aerospace experience is highly beneficial, as is automotive industry exposure, however this isn't essential
• Knowledge of successfully delivering improvement projects
• Evidence of undergoing root cause analysis
• Experience handling customer escapes – dealing with production investigation thereafter
• Engaged in planning process for the delivery of new projects, project planning experience in manufacturing is beneficial
• Good verbal and written communication skills; able to maintain internal stakeholder relationships
• Comfortable representing the quality function at review meetings, previous evidence of working autonomously or representing in review meetings is beneficial
• Experience of Quality planning for the introduction of new products
• Ability to speak French is beneficial (though isn't a necessity or essential).
